Grilled Salmon Steak

  • 4 Select Fish salmon steaks
  • ¼ cup soy sauce (low sodium)
  • ¼ cup maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon ginger (minced)
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • sesame seeds (optional)
  • green onions (chopped, for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Make the glaze: In a shallow dish or bowl (large enough to fit the salmon steaks) whisk together soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, garlic and red pepper flakes.
  2. Marinate salmon: Put your salmon steaks into the shallow bowl and flip over to ensure it is well sauced. Cover with plastic wrap and let marinate for 1 hour.
  3. Grill the salmon: Grill both sides of the salmon, until cooked through or to your preference –  about 4 minutes on each side. While cooking, brush any remaining glaze over the salmon steaks.
  4. Garnish: Garnish your salmon steaks with sesame seeds (optional) and chopped green onion.

Serving suggestion: Serve with roasted vegetables, a side salad, or a creamy sauce.
